Cara Castellow founded Cara Caters non-profit in 2023. The idea behind her mission was inspired by her Mom, who is a retired teacher. In the mid 1990s Melanie Castellow and her students created a project to deliver food to hungry children living in underserved neighborhoods in Hallettsville Texas. Today, Cara Caters is making a huge impact in the Ennis community by giving kids the food they need to thrive on weekends and holidays.
Currently, we provide food to students who are enrolled in Ennis Independent School District in Ennis, Texas. Our long-term goals is to expand our reach to serve surrounding districts. Eventually, we hope to grow our operations to a state and national level.
